The software

Arcalox is free and open-source software published by The Veydrin Order under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3.0. You are free to use, study, modify, and share it under the terms of that license. The license text governs your rights to the code and prevails over any summary here.

No warranty

Arcalox is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. While the app is built for a demanding threat model and we take its security seriously, no software is perfect, and you use it at your own risk. To the extent permitted by law, The Veydrin Order is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app or website.

Your data is your responsibility

Because Arcalox has no account and no server we run, only you hold your data and your passphrase. We cannot recover them. You are responsible for keeping backups of your encrypted export and for remembering your passphrase. The panic wipe, duress, and decoy features are tools you control and must understand before relying on them.

Trademarks

Arcalox and the Arcalox mark are trademarks of The Veydrin Order. The AGPL-3.0 license grants rights to the software; it does not grant a license to use our name or marks in a way that implies endorsement or that could confuse users about the origin of a build. Names of other software mentioned on this site are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only for identification and honest comparison.

The Arcalox website is provided for information only. Links to third-party services such as Codeberg and Open Collective are governed by those services' own terms.
